Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Striden ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Striden.
2. Description of Service
Striden is a coaching and athlete management platform that enables coaches to create training plans, track athlete progress, and facilitate communication between coaches and athletes. The Service includes:
- Organization-based team management for coaches and athletes
- Workout planning, scheduling, and completion tracking
- Integration with third-party fitness platforms including Garmin Connect, Strava, WHOOP, and COROS
- AI-powered training analysis and insights (available with Premium subscription)
- A public coach marketplace where athletes can discover and connect with coaches
- Payment processing for coach-athlete billing via Stripe Connect
- Identity verification for coach profiles via Stripe Identity
3. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must:
- Create an account with accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
- Be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in certain jurisdictions)
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You may register using email and password or through third-party authentication providers (Google, Apple). When using third-party authentication, you authorize us to access certain account information from those providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
- Harass, abuse, or harm another person through the Service
- Use automated means to access the Service without our express permission
- Scrape, data-mine, or otherwise extract data from the Service for unauthorized purposes
5. Coach-Specific Terms
5.1 Coach Responsibilities
If you use Striden as a coach, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for the training plans you create, the advice you provide, and all communications with your athletes
- You will not misrepresent your qualifications, certifications, or experience on your profile or in the marketplace
- You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction related to coaching, fitness training, and health-related services
- You will handle athlete data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and will not use athlete data for any purpose other than providing coaching services through Striden
- When sending email communications to athletes through the platform (including email blasts), you are responsible for the content of those communications and for complying with applicable anti-spam laws
5.2 Coach Marketplace
Coaches may list their profiles on the Striden public marketplace. By listing your profile, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your services, pricing, and qualifications
- Maintain active payment setup through Stripe Connect to receive payments
- Honor the pricing plans you publish on your profile
- Respond to athlete inquiries in a timely and professional manner
5.3 Identity Verification
Coaches may opt to verify their identity to earn a "Verified" badge on their profile. By participating in identity verification, you agree to:
- Submit a valid government-issued photo ID and a selfie through our identity verification provider, Stripe Identity
- Provide truthful information during the verification process
- Understand that the name on your ID must match the name on your Striden account
The "Verified" badge indicates that a coach's identity has been confirmed. It does not constitute an endorsement of the coach's qualifications, certifications, coaching ability, or the quality of their services. Striden makes no representations or warranties about any coach's fitness to provide coaching services.
6. Athlete-Specific Terms
If you use Striden as an athlete, you acknowledge that:
- Training recommendations provided through the Service are for informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice
- You should consult with a healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program or making changes to your training
- You are responsible for assessing your own fitness level and adapting training plans accordingly
- When connecting third-party fitness accounts (Garmin, Strava, WHOOP, COROS), your activity and health data will be shared with your coach(es) within your organization
- Striden is not responsible for any injury, illness, or adverse health outcome resulting from following training plans or coach recommendations
7. Third-Party Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms including but not limited to Garmin Connect, Strava, WHOOP, and COROS. Your use of these integrations is subject to:
- The terms and conditions of those third-party services
- Any permissions you grant when connecting your accounts
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or functionality of third-party services. We may add, modify, or remove integrations at any time.
8. AI-Powered Features
Striden offers AI-powered features including training analysis, workout suggestions, and performance insights. By using these features, you acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and should not be treated as professional coaching, medical, or health advice
- Your training data may be processed by third-party AI service providers (currently Anthropic) to generate insights
- AI features are subject to usage limits (rate limiting) to ensure fair access for all users
- AI outputs may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your individual circumstances
- AI features require a Premium subscription and may be modified or discontinued at any time
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are the exclusive property of Striden and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of content you create (such as training plans, notes, and communications), but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, and display this content as necessary to provide and improve the Service.
10. Subscriptions, Payments, and Fees
10.1 Platform Subscriptions
Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing:
- You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date
- All payments are processed through Stripe. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe and is not stored on our servers
- Prices may change with notice. Existing subscriptions will be honored at the current rate until the next renewal
10.2 Coach-Athlete Payments (Stripe Connect)
Coaches may charge athletes for coaching services through the platform using Stripe Connect. By using coach-athlete payments:
- Coaches agree that Striden charges a 10% platform fee on all payments processed through the Service
- Coaches are responsible for setting their own prices and for any tax obligations related to income received through the platform
- Athletes agree to the pricing terms set by their coach at the time of enrollment
- Payouts to coaches are subject to Stripe's standard payout schedule and any applicable holds
- Striden is a marketplace facilitator and is not a party to the coaching services agreement between coaches and athletes
10.3 Refund Policy
For platform subscriptions (Free, Starter, Advanced, Unlimited): You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and no prorated refunds are provided for partial periods.
For coach-athlete payments: Refund requests for coach services should be directed to the coach. Coaches may issue refunds through the platform. Striden will refund the platform fee proportionally when a coach issues a refund.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, STRIDEN DOES NOT WARRANT OR MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING: (A) THE QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCE, OR SUITABILITY OF ANY COACH ON THE PLATFORM; (B) THE ACCURACY OR APPROPRIATENESS OF ANY TRAINING PLAN, AI-GENERATED CONTENT, OR COACHING ADVICE; (C) THE ACCURACY OF DATA SYNCED FROM THIRD-PARTY FITNESS PLATFORMS; OR (D) THE RESULTS YOU MAY OBTAIN FROM USING THE SERVICE.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRIDEN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY TRAINING PLAN, ADVICE, OR CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE; (C) ANY INJURY, ILLNESS, OR ADVERSE HEALTH OUTCOME; (D) ANY CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE, INCLUDING COACHES AND ATHLETES; OR (E) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO STRIDEN IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Striden, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another party; (d) any training plans, advice, or content you provide through the Service; or (e) any dispute between you and another user of the Service, including disputes between coaches and athletes.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at support@striden.app. We will try to resolve the dispute within 30 days. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may proceed with formal dispute resolution.
14.2 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in the English language, and judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
14.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND STRIDEN AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
15. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
- We will retain your data for a reasonable period (typically 30 days) to allow for account recovery, after which it will be permanently deleted unless we are legally required to retain it
- You may request an export of your data prior to account deletion by contacting us
- Active subscriptions will not be refunded for partial billing periods
- If you are a coach with active athlete subscriptions, you are responsible for communicating the termination to your athletes
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance by posting a notice on the Service and sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Delaware.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Striden regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
